Regional Outreach Coordinator
“When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” -John Lennon
Tarah Probst comes to Brookdale with a diverse background in sales, marketing and public service. Alongside her role as Regional Outreach Coordinator for Brookdale, Tarah is also the first female mayor of her hometown, Stroudsburg, PA, truly exemplifying a commitment of service to those in need and her community as a whole.
Originally from Monroe County, Tarah graduated from East Stroudsburg High School in 1988 and attended King’s College thereafter, obtaining a B.A. in Communications in 1992. Years later, she would attend Widener University School of Law, where she attained her Juris Doctor of Law in 2003.
Throughout her professional career, Tarah has had the opportunity to work in various arenas, gaining tremendous experience and establishing trusted relationships with like-minded professionals. While her passion is in public service, Tarah also owned and operated Multi-Media Advertising Solutions, Inc. from 2004 to 2017, as well as opened a turn-key restaurant in downtown Stroudsburg in 2016.
In 2015, Tarah was elected the first female mayor in Stroudsburg Borough’s history, by special election, and was then re-elected in 2017. Through this role, Tarah has witnessed first-hand how her region has been directly impacted by the disease of addiction and the need for quality treatment services.
Outside of work, you can find Tarah spending her time with family, traveling and exercising. Most of all, she loves watching her son play golf, as they travel for many of his competitions, enjoying the beautiful courses they visit.
As Regional Outreach Coordinator, Tarah hopes to help those that need it the most, believing that through treatment and continued rehabilitation, those suffering from substance use disorders can better their lives and the lives of those around them. She strives to help in the overall fight against addiction, enriching the community and breaking cycle of addiction.
