“Judging a person does not define who they are, it defines who you are."
David Enslin joins the Brookdale Clinical Team as Clinical Supervisor, with an extensive background in the treatment industry, most notably working with a younger population who suffer from substance use disorders.
Dave takes pride in upholding all professional standards and competencies as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the state of Pennsylvania. Currently, he is pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development at Empire State College, as well as holds various certifications including, Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS), International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ICADC), Certificate of Competency and Problem Gambling (CCPG) and is in good standing with the PA Certification Board.
With nearly a decade of experience in the treatment industry, Dave has held various positions in the entire continuum of care, including inpatient and outpatient care, halfway house settings and recovery homes. His experience includes Resident Manager, Case Manager, Counselor and Clinical Supervisor. He says throughout his experience, “I have had the honor of working under some of the most experienced professionals in the region, helping shape my philosophy of treatment and therapy. I have spent the majority of these years exploring the most successful approaches to reaching young addicts and helping to create an urgency for change.”
After getting sober in November of 2011, Dave immersed himself in the things he once loved, but let go as a result of his addiction. Today, when he is not working, you can find Dave competitively bass fishing or loving animals of all kinds, most notably caring for his many reptiles.
As Clinical Supervisor for Brookdale, Dave hopes to assist patients in developing resilience, willingness and honesty, as he believes these things to be prerequisites for a successful recovery journey.
